Marisa Brienza, MEd, CRC

Vocational Specialist

Marisa is an experienced vocational rehabilitation counselor with expertise in evaluation, planning, and case management providing vocational rehabilitation services for injured and disabled individuals in the state of Ohio. She has been working in cooperation with doctors, therapists, employers, attorneys, managed care, self-insured, and government agencies since 2001 to coordinate comprehensive vocational rehabilitation plans to help disabled individuals return to the workforce.

Marisa has prepared employability assessments for plaintiff and defense counsels. She also has skills in completing transferable skills analysis (TSAs), labor market research, completion of interest inventories such as the World of Work Inventory (WOWI), employment services, as well as performing transitional work development programs for employers. As a Transitional Work Developer, Marisa has assisted employers in the state of Ohio to develop detailed transitional work programs including functional job analyses, written policies and guidelines, and trainings to promote early and safe return to work for injured workers. Her work history also includes working with the Department of Veterans Affairs, in which she assisted disabled veterans with career and independent living services through interest, aptitude, and ability assessments, independent living assessments, and career research and exploration activities.

Marisa holds a Master of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling from Kent State University as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Akron. She is credentialed as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) and Employment Specialist. CV available upon request.
